Dear Brothers,

I recognize that this time of not celebrating public Masses is a challenge for all of us. Yet, seeing what is happening in Europe, and with things changing here just about every hour, I am convinced it is the most prudent and charitable response. I am grateful to you who have sent me notes of support in this difficult decision that the 3 bishops of Colorado had to make in short notice in light of what is transpiring in Colorado with the ever increasing number of cases. 

Some have asked how long the closures will last, and I very honestly do not know. Seeing what is happening in Europe can give us insight and it seems unfortunately it will be longer than shorter.  The most important thing for us is to exercise charity towards our neighbors and to be patient and stay informed.

I am certain that the Lord will get us through this and bring good from it as he has done in the past pandemics. Prayer is essential! I will be doing a novena starting tomorrow to Our Lady of Berico that will conclude on March 25, the solemnity of the Annunciation. We will have it posted on our website. I ask all of you to join with me in the novena. You can find copies of it on the website or by searching for it on the internet.

Be assured of my prayers for you! I hold you and the faithful in y prayers at each Mass I celebrate. Our Lady of Berico, pray for us!
